1. About this policy
Occasion Buddy (“we”, “us” or “our”) publishes celebration ideas and planning guides. This policy explains how information is handled when you browse this website or contact us. It applies to this blog, not to independent social media platforms or other websites you choose to visit.
For privacy enquiries, write to occasionbuddy@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy enquiry”.
2. Information involved
- Messages you send. If you email us or message our social accounts, we may receive your name, email address, account identifier, message and attachments, together with information you choose to include. Please avoid sending identity documents, passwords, payment details or sensitive information unless specifically required through an appropriate channel.
- Technical information. Hosting and security services may process IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, request times, referral information and error logs to deliver and protect the website. The records available depend on the hosting service and its configuration.
- Information this blog does not request. This version has no registration, checkout, newsletter subscription or comment form. Reading an article does not require you to provide your name or email address.
3. Why information is used
Information may be used to answer enquiries, consider editorial suggestions, investigate a reported problem, keep the website secure, prevent misuse and meet applicable legal obligations. Information provided for an enquiry is used in connection with that enquiry; it is not a request to receive marketing messages. Where consent is required, it must be obtained separately for the relevant purpose.
4. Cookies, analytics and local storage
The website’s own code does not set cookies, use browser local storage, or include advertising pixels, analytics trackers or embedded social feeds. Fonts and page images are served as website assets. Hosting infrastructure may apply its own security or delivery mechanisms. Following a social link takes you to a separate service, which may use cookies or similar technologies under its own policy.
If analytics, advertising, embedded services or other features are introduced, this policy and any necessary consent choices must be updated before those features operate.
5. Service providers and disclosures
Website hosting, email and social media providers may process information needed to supply their services. Messages sent to our Gmail address are handled through Google’s email service. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, in response to a valid legal request, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights and investigate misuse. This blog does not include a data brokerage or personal-data sales service.
6. Storage, retention and international processing
Providers may operate infrastructure in more than one country. The location of processing depends on the services used. Enquiry records should be kept only for as long as needed to address the enquiry and any related administrative or legal requirements. Technical log retention depends on the hosting configuration. Information that is no longer needed should be deleted or de-identified, subject to lawful retention requirements and backup cycles.
7. Your requests and choices
You may contact us to ask about information you provided, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. Where applicable law grants additional rights, you may exercise those rights through the same contact. If processing relies on your consent, you may request withdrawal; this does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity and will explain any lawful reason a request cannot be fully met.
To help locate a record, identify the email address or social account you used and describe your request. Do not send unnecessary identity documents. Nothing in this policy removes any right to approach a competent regulator or other authority.
8. Children
The content is intended for general readers and adults planning celebrations. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. Parents or guardians who believe a child has shared personal information with us can email us to request a review and appropriate action.
9. Security
Reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and services used should be maintained. However, no internet transmission or storage method is completely secure. Please do not share confidential information in public social media comments. If you notice a security issue, report it privately by email.
10. Changes and contact
This policy may be revised to reflect changes in the website, services or applicable requirements. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated where required. Privacy enquiries and complaints can be sent to occasionbuddy@gmail.com.
